Raquel di Carvalho, artista pittrice, nata in Brasile (1975), ha iniziato la sua vita come pittore all'età di 19 anni a San Paolo, dove ha frequentato corsi con pittori di fama. Un anno dopo si trasferisce nella sua città di Novo Hamburgo per studiare Belle Arti, dove si forma nel 2002. Il lavoro di monocromia è iniziato nel 1999 con il lavoro "MENINO". L'emergere di quella linea si è verificato sin dalla preoccupazione principale nello scoprire come unire immagine, idea, luce e colore. Sono interessato alla questione dell'impressione di fluidità, leggerezza e allo stesso tempo di una relazione antagonista che l'opera crea nel tempo e dei suoi metodi di elaborazione. Comincia anche a insegnare pittura nel suo studio. Dieci anni dopo si recò a Bilbao (Spagna) alla ricerca di nuovi modi di apprendimento ed evoluzione. Vive due anni nei Paesi Baschi trasferendosi a Santiago de Compostela, dove nel suo studio insegna pittura e sviluppa il suo lavoro come artista.
Di Carvalho è arrivata in Spagna 13 anni fa, stabilendosi in Galizia dal 2008. La pittura è la sua passione. Sia la sua tecnica che i suoi motivi pittorici si sono evoluti in più di 20 anni della sua carriera professionale, dove ospita premi ed esposizioni in Brasile e Spagna. Insegna da 23 anni, dopo essersi laureata in Belle Arti nel suo paese. Artista poliedrico nella pittura e nella formazione degli studenti, cerca di recuperare l'essenza dell'arte nei tempi moderni.
Per quanto riguarda il contenuto del suo lavoro, Di Carvalho non può dimenticare le sue radici in esso, dove ritrae costumi, paesaggi, persone vicine rappresentate in modo nostalgico. Un altro tema del suo lavoro è "le strade della strada". Paesaggi del Cammino Francese nella tua esperienza di pellegrino. E infine, la principale di tutte, la serie di immagini che esprime la visione della vita attraverso gli occhi di un bambino. Si chiama "AMEN-MY WORLD IS ANOTHER". Quella stessa visione che permea i sentimenti di resa totale, assenti da pregiudizi, critiche, cinismo e crudeltà, che acquisiamo nel corso della nostra esistenza. Si può dire che questa serie sia un riflesso della qualità umana.
